Holden’s Relationships With Women

Imagine being a teenager boy who doesnt know how to relate to girls and is unable to make good, strong relationships with them. Holden Caulfield, the important character in J. D. Salingers Catcher in the Rye, has this problem. throughout the novel, he meets a variety of different female characters from kids nigh the ages of s charge to teenage prostitutes. He struggles to connect to these women and doesnt regard how to respect them. This leads him to conclude that all of them are phonies. He also believes that the adult world is so full of phonies that the slew living in that world cant even see what they have become, making him retreat even more respect for people who are older than himself. He is scared of growing up, and because of this, he reacts negatively towards people who are older than he. Because of this, its almost impossible for him to send or respect women.
