And from beginning it become a member of GATT (general symmetry on tariff and trade) in 1947 and also follow the rules of WTO (world trade organization) in 1995 which used to liberalize the agricultural trade by reducing tariff, trade-distorting production subsidies and exports subsidies. Trade in turn acts as a catalyst in economic growth and in agriculture growth by increasing income and demand of agriculture inputs which further increase the production.
Agriculture remains the most largest field of Pakistans economy but
its share in GDP is declining with the overtaking of time and represents 21.6 percent part of GDP and employed long number of labor force (44.8 percent).And agriculture and food bear on contribute less then ten percent of the world trade and in GDP less then 4% and employed 54% of population (Anderson and Martin(2005)).
