Soviet communism failed to meet the needs of its peoples and fell from power largely because of its confess internal weaknesses, especially its backward economy and its inability to grapple in the global marketplace and to keep pace with proficient progress.
That failure was overly political as communist political orientation no longer held much appeal for its educated community and its attempt under Gorbachev to reform itself was inherently flawed.
